APC National chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, resigns from position

Published:

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, has reportedly resigned from his position.

This decision was prompted by alleged gang up against him by people around President Bola Tinubu to embarrass him during a meeting of the party slated for tomorrow and Wednesday.

Reportedly, that Mr Adamu resigned on Sunday night.

The resignation letter was said to have been submitted to the Chief of Staff of the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, around 4pm on Sunday.

The National Executive Committee and National Caucus of the APC is scheduled for July 18 and 19, 2023, in Abuja.

The party is also expected to hold a National Working Committee, NWC, meeting ahead of the NEC.

Adamu has been having a running battle with the National Vice Chairman, North West, of the party, Salihu Lukman.

Lukman, among corruption allegations, is also accusing Adamu of breaching the constitution of the party and running a sole administratorship.

He accused the Adamu leadership of squandering the 30 billion realized during sales of forms for the 2023 elections.
