Liverpool are set to hijack Brighton midfielder from Chelsea

Published:

According to reports, three teams are interested in acquiring Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, with Liverpool making contact.

A deal is being looked into by Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Liverpool. One way or another, a solution may be reached as soon as this weekend.

Brighton wants sufficient time to find a successor if an agreement is finalized. Brighton is now holding firm to its valuation of £100 million.

Caicedo has made it known to Brighton that he wishes to depart.

Liverpool has not yet made an offer but are still looking for a midfielder, although, as has been the case throughout the current transfer window, the strong assumption is that Caicedo will join Chelsea.

Given Southampton’s persistent stance about Romeo Lavia, Liverpool is conducting due research and ensuring they are informed of potential deals.

Brighton has turned down Chelsea’s offers for Caicedo this summer, the most recent for £80 million. The teams are still in negotiations, but the Blues are making a strong push for a deal.

Meanwhile, Chelsea has made a £48 million proposal for Lavia, and discussions with Southampton may resume within the next 24 hours.

While the bid is anticipated to be rejected since Southampton wants £50 million, it is close enough that negotiations between the teams might continue.

So far this summer, Liverpool has had three proposals for Lavia rejected, the most recent of which was valued at roughly £45 million.
