Atiku, Obi’s petitions ‘terribly hopeless’ – APC Secretary

Published:

Senator Ajibola Basiru, National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has stated that the petitions contesting President Bola Tinubu’s win in the recently ended presidential election are “terribly hopeless.”

Recalls that Tinubu’s win is being challenged in court by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP.

Basiru, on the other hand, was clear in his dismissal of the cases.

He made the remarks while answering questions on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics on Sunday.

Basiru refuted claims that the APC is planning a repeat election.

“From my knowledge of electoral law in Nigeria and having read the petitions and also being part of the proceedings, I would say that all the petitions against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s election are hopeless and nobody needs to even waste time in dismissing same.

“They are hopeless petitions, terribly hopeless,” he boasted.
